6 Month Repair Warranty

Every repair we perform is backed by a 6 month warranty on parts and workmanship.

6 Month Refurb Warranty

All refurbished devices ship with a 6 month warranty against hardware faults.

1. Australian Consumer Law

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. This policy is in addition to those rights.

2. Repair Warranty (6 Months)

Every repair carried out by SidekickMobile is covered for 6 months from the date of pickup. The warranty covers:

  • Replaced Parts: Defects in the part(s) we replaced.
  • Workmanship: Failures arising from our workmanship.

The warranty does not cover:

  • New Physical Damage: Drops, cracks or dents sustained after pickup.
  • Water Or Liquid Damage: Any liquid exposure occurring after the repair.
  • Third Party Repairs: Damage from any repair attempts after our service.
  • Pre Existing Issues: Faults not part of the original repair scope.
  • Battery Wear: Degradation beyond the manufacturer's expected wear curve.

Other warranty conditions:

  • Labour Costs: Labour charges already paid are not refundable except where required by the Australian Consumer Law.
  • Warranty Start Date: All warranty periods run from the original repair pickup date only. A repair or replacement performed under warranty does not extend or restart the warranty period.
  • Proof Of Purchase: A copy of your original receipt must be presented for any warranty claim.
  • Locked Or Dead Devices: If we were unable to fully test the device prior to repair because it was passcode locked or would not power on, the warranty covers the specific fault we repaired only.

To claim, bring the device and your receipt to our Forest Glen store. We will diagnose at no charge and repair or replace the part free of charge if covered.

3. Refurbished Device Warranty (6 Months)

All refurbished iPhones, Samsung, Google and Oppo devices sold by SidekickMobile come with a 6 month warranty against hardware faults including:

  • Screen And Display: Faults in the LCD, OLED panel or touch digitiser.
  • Battery: Faults outside expected wear.
  • Charging Port: Faults in the dock or wireless charging coil.
  • Cameras: Faults in front and rear camera modules.
  • Speakers And Microphones: Audio component faults.
  • Logic Board: Faults in the mainboard or device firmware.
  • Buttons And Sensors: Faults in side buttons, Face ID and other sensors.
  • Connectivity: Faults in Wi Fi, Bluetooth or cellular components.

The warranty does not cover:

  • Accidental Damage: Drops, cracks or impacts.
  • Liquid Damage: Any liquid exposure of any kind.
  • Cosmetic Wear: Wear consistent with the disclosed grade.
  • Third Party Repairs: Damage from outside repair attempts.
  • Software Issues: Forgotten passcodes or iCloud lockouts unrelated to hardware.

4. Liquid Damaged Device Repairs

Repairs performed on devices with prior liquid exposure are accepted as best effort only. Corrosion from liquid contact can cause delayed or intermittent failures that may not be apparent at the time of repair.

  • No Warranty: All liquid damage repairs are performed without warranty.
  • Outcome Not Guaranteed: The device may fail to power on or operate reliably after the repair due to ongoing corrosion.
  • Successful Outcome: A liquid damage repair is considered successful if data is able to be recovered from the device, even if the device itself does not return to full function.
  • Future Failures: Devices that have suffered liquid damage may fail at any point in the future regardless of any work we perform on them.

By approving a liquid damage repair you accept these conditions either in writing or verbally at the time of drop off.

5. Repair First Policy For Refurb Faults

If your refurbished device develops a fault within the 6 month warranty period, our process is:

  1. Repair Attempt: We will inspect the device and attempt to repair the fault free of charge.
  2. Issue Recurs Or Cannot Be Fixed: If the same issue returns after the repair, or if we determine the fault cannot be repaired, you may choose either:
    • A full refund of the purchase price; or
    • A replacement device equivalent to the one you purchased (same model, grade and storage where possible).

This process aligns with your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and ensures we resolve any issue as quickly as possible.

6. Change Of Mind Returns

We do not offer change of mind returns on refurbished devices, completed repairs, custom orders or opened accessories. Please review your selection carefully before purchase. Our team is happy to assist with any pre purchase questions in store, by phone or by email.

7. Refund Processing Times

Approved refunds are processed within 5 business days. Funds typically appear in your account within 3 to 10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer. Afterpay refunds follow Afterpay's standard processing timeline.

8. How To Start A Warranty Claim

The fastest way to get a claim moving:

  1. Email Us: Send hello@sidekickmobile.com.au with your order number and a brief description of the issue.
  2. Send Evidence: Include photos or a short video showing the fault if possible.
  3. We Respond: We will reply within 1 to 2 business days with next steps.
